Engr. Emaduddin Ahmad

I, Engr. Emaduddin Ahmad, joined SWMC in Dec 1994 after serving for about 20 years at BWDB, JRC and Flood Action Plan. I had Masters in Hydraulic Engg. with Thesis in Unsteady Flow Modelling and Post Graduate Diploma in Management. Both field level project management and design of hydraulic structures, negotiation of water sharing developed confidence for a better decision. All these helped me to lead the transformation of SWSMP TA project to SWMC Trust in 1996. In the process group of dedicated SWMC professionals, Danish TA and technology of DHI were crucial. It was my pleasure to plan, develop and monitor SWMC Trust into a self sustained organisation named Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in 2002.

However, IWM journey was not always smooth. As of any third world country with high tech, IWM had large staff turnover through migration. The senior professionals worked hard to keep pace of project works and routine staff development. Even then, it continued to expand its area of operation in various sectors both in the country and at abroad but never compromised with quality. During the journey, I had always been supported by our staffs, by the Board of Trustees and all major clients. IWM arranged workshop and seminars on a regular basis to reflect its product to users. It was our opportunity to highlight national issues joining Climate conference or Global Water Partnership at international level focusing through stalls or participating at discussions.

I retired from IWM on 10 January, 2011 at the end of 64 years of service.

I enjoyed every moment of serving IWM.
